Welcome to Kingfishers Class
Kingfishers Class (Year 3 and Year 4) is taught by Mrs Sugg and supported by Mrs Elston, Mrs Coogan, Miss Knappett and Mrs Bridgeman.
Children in Kingfishers experience a full curriculum with weekly specialist teaching in PE and Music. They have easy access to a courtyard area to extend their learning outside. We have a lovely, bright classroom with plenty of space and lots of resources which children can access independently to support their learning.
Children continue to develop their ability to be more independent and engage in their learning in a more structured way, We are always looking at different ways to build their creativity and talents throughout the curriculum. Children in Year 4 are then able to build on their independent learning skills whilst embedding their understanding of key concepts in readiness for upper Key Stage 2.
Parents, can log in to Class Dojo for all our latest class news and updates, including a roundup of our news each Friday.
Because we have 2 year groups in each class, we use a 2-year rolling programme of study which means that, over the course of their two years in Kingfishers Class, children will cover all areas of the Year 3 and Year 4 National Curriculum. here is a copy of our 2-year rolling programme, which has recently been redeveloped in order to make better links between subjects and ensure a broad and balanced curriculum. There are still some areas being worked on, so this document is subject to change.
Remember to bring the following items to school each day:
